Parks and Potholes
Parks and pot holes are part of the Of the Earth Series. Pencil, holders, sharpeners and paper clip holders are made to take on the appearance of a section of a public park complete with benches or on lookers. In the Hazard edition, a pothole becomes a convenient place to keep a pencil. The play with scale transforms everyday objects into public art or surreal obstacle in these tiny worlds. A pencil or paper clip become a oversized sculpture in the manner of artist Claus Oldenburg and Coosje Van Bruggen, adding wonder to any work space.
